PERMANENT MAKE UP FAQ'S

Does having Permanent Makeup hurt?

Everyone's experience and threshold is different, whilst many find permanent makeup treatments pretty painless, you may experience slight discomfort - but generally speaking, clients report little to no pain at all!

Is Permanent Makeup safe?

Yes, Permanent Makeup is absolutely safe when carried out by a highly trained professional. I trained at the largest and most famous permanent make-up training school in the world, so have been fortunate enough to have training by the very best in the industry. All tools and equipment are single use and fully sanitised before every treatment to prevent infection. If you have any other concerns, we can discuss this before your treatment.

How long does Permanent Makeup last?

In terms of 'wear-ability' PMU can last 18 months to 5yrs, however, some clients retain pigment better than others and some treatments last longer than others, the same with certain pigment shades. Therefore it is recommended you get 12-18 month top ups to keep it looking its best and keep it fresh. Please get in touch by email to book your top-up appointments.

What's the difference between Semi-Permanent Make-up (SPMU) and Permanent Make-up (PMU)?

Nothing! There are many terms used to describe these treatments like those just mentioned as well as others including Cosmetic Tattoo,  Micro-pigmentation, Permanent Pigmentation etc. Whilst results often will and do fade, they are still deemed permanent, as pigment is being implanted into your skin. We prefer avoiding the term SPMU as ultimately, you are having pigment implanted into your skin as mentioned, and while it will fade, elements and particles always remain - hence permanent.

Is Microblading a Tattoo?

Yes - it is still a form of Permanent Make-up, otherwise known as Cosmetic Tattoo. But rather than a machine/electronic device, a manual tool is used instead when Microblading.

What treatments do you offer for Permanent Eyebrows?

I am trained in various techniques to achieve the eyebrows you're looking for. These include:

  • Phibrows Microblading: hyper-realistic brow strokes for a natural look

  • Ombre Brows: for clients who prefer a fuller brow, with a soft "powdered" look

  • Combo Brows: a combination of hair strokes at the beginning, with a powdered technique for fullness on the tails

  • Signature Brows: a combination of hair strokes throughout the brow with a light powdering throughout for fullness

You can find out more about these techniques here.

What happens after the procedure?

After the procedure you may notice some slight redness, even a little swelling, this is normal and will subside usually over the course of a few hours. The colour will look darker and more intense initially due to the increased blood flow and redness in the area.

Please always follow your given aftercare for best results.
